How to come to Nice ?

The holidayresort Nice is located on the mediteranean Sea in the sunny south of France. It is in the middle of the famous Cote d'Azur region. Nice is very accesible both by car as by plane.

-by car:

When you come with your own car, Nice is perfectly accessable by the modern French highways.  Both from the northern (Lyon / Paris / Brussels/ Amsterdam / Geneva / Cologne / …),  as from the eastern (Genua / Milan / Venice / …) as from the western directions Marseille / Barcelona / Madrid) you can reach Nice directly and easily by motorway.

-by plane:

It is only a 10 minutes drive from the city centre of Nice to the modern airport of Nice. After Paris, Nice International Airport is France busiest airport with a lot of direct connections. From London there are many companies flying directly to Nice; for instance British Airways, but also different low-cost carriers. For instance Easyjet offers very cheap tickets to Nice when you book in advance (see www.easyjet.com.). Other budget-airlines are: www.transavia.com , www.ryanair.com  , www.jet2.com,  www.germanwings.com and www.virgin-express.com .From the US for instance Delta Airlines is flying directly from New York to Nice (see www.delta.com.).
Other nearby airports: Marseille (150 km), Genova (150 km) and Milano (300 km).

Car-rental in Nice

For transportation in and outside Nice we recommend  car-rental. Besides well known rental companies like Avis or Budget you can rent for low cost rental cars (Smarts and Peugots 206) at  www.sixti.com. Another option is to rent  two 9-persons minibusses; this can for instance via www.locationdevehicules.fr  or  www.rentacar.fr.

Busses in Nice

When you arrive by plane you can also take a taxi or a bus to Villa “La Citronneraie”. By coach from the city-centre or the trainstation to the villa it takes about 10 minutes. Only 50 meters from the villa there is a  busstop. During the week there is an hourly service to and from the centre (Nice-city-busses; one-way Euro 1,50). In the evening and on Sunday the busservice is limited..

Restaurants & Shops

If you want to "eat-out" you can go to one of the numerous restaurants of Nice (about 7 minutes by car).  Typical French and a lot of Italian restaurants you find in the Old Town of Nice, modern and trendy restaurants are located in the new quarters of Nice, for luxurious restaurants you go to the exclusive hotels and Japanese and a lot of restaurants with reasonable menuprices are situated around the trainstation of Nice. So it will be hard to choose !  In the villa you can find a list with restaurants we can recommend you.

Very near the house (walking-distance; about 200 meters) you find a small church with next to it restaurant "Mas des Oliviers"  (good food, reasonable prices, cuisine Nicoise, possibilities for breakfast, lunch and dinner). This restaurant has an outside terrace and also private rooms. Another restaurant on the same hill of the villa is "Bella Vista"; (Italian restaurant; pizza, pasta's but also some dishes with meat and fish). The view on the city of Nice is very nice. A third restaurant in the direct surroundings of La Citronneraie is "restaurant Cicion".  This is a more expensive, well known and exclusive restaurant which has a big terrace / garden with also panoramic views on the city and sea.

Next to 2 of the 3 above mentioned restaurants there is also a small shop / bakery situated which sells among other things also daily fresh bread. You can find big supermarkets on the way into the centre of Nice.

Pizza & Pasta delivery to villa possible from various companies.
